Illinois Director Credential

Entitled Route

The Illinois Director Credential can be achieved through an entitled route program. Entitled programs are those that offer a set of courses that meet the IDC requirements. Once the student has completed these courses, he or she is recommended by the institution to receive an IDC. Each entitled program offers the IDC at level I, II, or III . The IDC appears as a credential option on the Gateways to Opportunity Lattice.

Becoming an entitled institution involves an evaluation of courses offered related to the IDC. These courses must include a demonstration of core knowledge and skills in Early Care and Education and Management . A supervised internship is also required to meet the requirements of teaching and management experience.   Professional Contributions are also required of each potential candidate.
